Q: What is Strategy and Analytics (S&A)?
A:  LinkedIn's Strategy & Analytics Leadership Program is a two-year rotational program    designed as a career accelerator that prepares new college graduates to become exceptional    business leaders. In high-visibility roles, S&A analysts master business skills like strategic    framing of problems, SQL & Presto, financial modeling, data visualization, and performance    management.
Q: Why should I start my career in S&A?
A: The S&A program at LinkedIn not only affords new college graduates the opportunity to develop their analytical and business skill sets at a tech company, but it also provides exposure and experience across a variety of role types. Anecdotally, analysts have said that they found the role variety paired with world class mentorship as a defining factor in both gaining clarity on their desired career paths as well as jump starting them.
Q: What is the typical background of an S&A analyst?
A: We are looking for highly motivated and passionate individuals from all backgrounds and majors! Analysts within S&A have demonstrated strong leadership and communication skills, and can also balance analytical ability with creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.
Q: What rotations options are available?
A:  Analysts have a wide exposure to different rotations across the business.  The first two rotations are in Business Operations and Sales Operations. After completing the core rotations, analysts are encouraged to explore 1-2 elective rotations across other functions like (but not limited to) Data Analytics, Corporate Development, Product Marketing, International Strategy & Ops, and Data Science.
Q: What skills will I learn through S&A?
A: Our analyst development framework is based around six skills: analytical abilities, technical tools, business communications, people skills, growth mindset, and citizenship. Your rotations will be structured to ensure that you develop skill sets in all of those areas over the course of your two years in the program.  In addition to on the job learning, you will have the opportunity to further develop your skills through formalized trainings, professional development mentorship, and peer mentorship.
Q: What is the social aspect of the S&A program like?
A: We believe that driving a fun and positive culture is important to the success of the program. The analysts are given a social budget which is managed by a social committee. Historically, these funds have been used for a variety of event types including overnight trips (e.g. ski weekend in Tahoe), happy hours, dinners, day trips to Santa Cruz, and so much more!
Q: What are projects analysts have worked on?
A: Examples of actual projects / rotations have included: Business Operations APAC team defining Chinese New Product strategy, Sales Operations team developing a revenue forecasting dashboard that allows for reps to track attainment to their quota, LTS Business Operations team working on a new pricing model for LinkedIn’s Jobs product, and the Product Marketing team driving the LinkedIn Premium go to market strategy.
Q: Where do S&A analysts go after the program?
A: Historically S&A analysts have taken on full time positions within Business Operations, Data Science, and Product Marketing Management. There are also a breadth of other exit opportunities including, but not limited to, Sales Operations, Corporate Development, Pricing, and Sales Insights. S&A analysts have also exited into positions within Product Management and Sales, however, if you have a strong interest in these roles, we encourage you to take a look at the following LinkedIn programs to ensure you are choosing a program that most aligns with your long term goals:

Whether you are looking for new life experience, or taking your first step to meeting your dream of working internationally long term, this rotation is an amazing opportunity to get exposure to the unique challenges that global companies face.
