HOW TO SHOW UP AS YOU AND HOW AI FITS INTO THAT

Where AI can add value

At LinkedIn, our mission is to connect the world’s professionals to make them more productive and successful. We know that AI can support this by helping with research, and preparation. We encourage transparency as you use these tools thoughtfully to put your best foot forward, while ensuring the interview remains a true reflection of your unique story and skills.

Polishing Your Story:

You are welcome to use AI to help draft or refine your resume and/or cover letter. We want your materials to shine, but they should accurately reflect your real experience, skills, and impact.

Preparation & Research:

Using AI to research roles, explore concepts, or practice mock interviews is encouraged. Being prepared can help you show up confidently, but AI does not replace your own personal insights and perspective.

HOW TO AVOID UNPERMITTED AI USAGE

Where we ask for human‑only input

Some moments in the interview process are intentionally AI‑free. These are the spaces where we want to hear directly from you — your thinking, your judgment, and your unique perspective.

Live Interviews:

This is all you! We’re excited to hear your story and see how you think through complex problems in real time.

Please do not use AI during live interviews unless the recruiting team has explicitly shared in advance that AI is part of the interview format for that role. If AI use is permitted, your recruiter will clearly communicate what’s allowed and how it will be assessed.

As you progress through the hiring process, be prepared to discuss any information you share and/or completed assessments in more detail. Follow‑up questions may be asked to help us better understand your thinking, trade‑offs made, and your real‑world experience. AI can support preparation, but your judgment, depth, and perspective are what matter most.

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOUR CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE

How LinkedIn uses AI for hiring

LinkedIn is at the forefront of the future of work, and that includes how we find our next great hires.

Guided by our Responsible AI Principles, we prioritize consistency, and transparency in how AI shows up throughout your experience. We believe AI should do the background work, so our people can focus on what matters most: meaningful conversations, sound judgment, and genuine connection.

You can learn more about how LinkedIn uses AI in the hiring process in our Candidate Notices & Disclosures.

LinkedIn is committed to offering an inclusive and accessible experience for all job seekers, including individuals with disabilities. If you need Reasonable Accommodation to search for a job opening, apply for a position, or participate in the interview process, please submit an Accommodation Request that includes information about the specific accommodation or disability-related support you need here.

AI helps with the process behind the scenes, so our teams can spend more time focused on conversations with you.

CLEAR EXPECTATIONS HELP EVERYONE BE THEIR BEST

Why these guidelines exist

AI is becoming part of how many people learn, prepare, and do their best work, and we and candidates are no exception. At the same time, interviews are designed to help us understand you: your thinking, judgment, and experience.

These guidelines help create clarity and consistency, ensuring our hiring process stays grounded in trust, even as technology and the world of work continues to evolve.

IN SHORT

What matters most

AI can support preparation, but interviews are about you. Use AI thoughtfully as you prepare, and show up as yourself.
